A Wyoming Highway Patrol Trooper returned to full duty today after recovering from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash last June.
Trooper Rodney Miears was injured on June 15, 2015 when a commercial truck failed to yield to oncoming traffic and made a left turn in front of Miears’ patrol vehicle on U.S. 14/16/20 at the entrance of the Yellowstone Valley Inn west of Cody. Injuries included a fractured back and nerve damage.
Trooper Miears credited wearing his seat belt for preventing more serious injuries and saving his life. His patrol car will be displayed around the state as a reminder of the type of crash that can be survived when a seat belt is in use.
The Wyoming Highway Patrol says Miears has waited diligently to return to work and is excited to once again serve Wyoming.
