A University of Wyoming student from Rock Springs was recently elected as an Associated Students of UW senator.
Jaynie Welsh was elected as an ASUW senator for the University of Wyoming’s College of Agriculture. ASUW Senators serve on various committees and represent their colleges in budgetary and policy matters impacting all UW students.
Michael Rotellini, a junior in business administration from Sheridan was elected as ASUW president. Tyler Wolfgang, a junior in elementary education from Parker, Colo. was elected as vice president.
A total of 1,530 UW students voted in the online elections which took place April 18-20.
Rotellini will preside over the student government that oversees a budget of more than $1 million, including funding for a variety of student programs. He also will serve as an ex-officio member of the UW Board of Trustees.
