The Green River Chamber of Commerce and Wyoming’s Big Show® are partnering once again to bring the Sweetwater County Photo Contest.
The contest is open to amateur and professional photographers. Each photographer can enter up to three photos. All entries must be photographs taken in Sweetwater County.
This year’s theme “Wild Color” is open to the artist’s interpretation and can include landscapes, animals, events, and more.
All entries must be an 8X10 matted photo in landscape orientation with no larger than a 2 ½ inch border. No signatures are allowed on the photos.
The photos will be displayed during Wyoming’s Big Show®, and judges will select the top 20 entries. The selected photos will be made into postcards which will be sold at the Green River Chamber of Commerce.
“It’s a local photo contest basically to promote the area,” said Kyla Magrath, Public Relations and Marketing Specialist with the Green River Chamber of Commerce. “People from all over the world visit the Chamber and that’s where we sell the postcards so it’s kind of a cool way to promote Sweetwater County for people all over the world.”
Magrath said the postcards have been a big hit with locals and tourists.
“The visitors love the postcards. They love to be able to send out postcards from our local photographers. When they find that out, they’re really excited. So, I think it’s a really great program,” said Magrath.
The People’s Choice photographer will be awarded a $25 gift certificate and the grand prize winner will receive a $100 gift certificate.
In addition, the winning photos will be on display at the Green River Chamber throughout August and September.
The winners will be announced at the fair.
Photos can be brought to the Green River Chamber of Commerce Office by July 29th or the Sweetwtaer County Events Complex by July 30th and 31st.
