Sports Authority is closing all of its stores nationwide, including the Rock Springs store.
Despite hopes that the company could bounce back after their bankruptcy filing in March, an auction earlier this month sealed the fate of the remaining stores.
The Rock Springs Sports Authority employs about 16 people.
A store manager said an exact closing date is unknown at this time, but says the best estimate is the store will close some time in the next 90 to 120 days.
Court documents show that Going Out Of Business Sales will begin on or around May 25, 2016.
Locally, a store manager said they are still unclear as to exactly when the Rock Springs Store will begin their Going Out Of Business Sales. She said sales could begin as early as the end of this week or beginning next week. The store is awaiting a visit from liquidators and instructions on the sales.
Sales are expected to start at around 20% off.
