Crews from the Granger Fire Department will be at Veteran’s Park in Granger to supervise the lighting of fireworks.

Fireworks are not permitted within Granger town limits, so this provides a place for people to light fireworks under the supervision of a fire team.

The park is open for fireworks from 7:30 p.m. to midnight on the Fourth of July only.

In Sweetwater County, fireworks are only allowed on private land with the landowner’s permission. It is illegal to light fireworks within the city limits of Green River and Rock Springs. Fireworks are also not allowed on lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management and the National Forest Service.

Anyone with questions on land boundaries can obtain a detailed land map at the front desk of the Rock Springs Bureau of Land Management Office for four dollars. The BLM can be reached by calling 307-352-0256.

Reminder: White Mountain, a popular place for fireworks, consists of a checkerboard of ownership between the BLM and private landowners. Permission must be obtained by a landowner before the land is utilized for fireworks. It is illegal to use fireworks on land managed by the BLM.
