A stabbing incident in Rock Springs early Thursday morning left one woman dead and one injured.
According to a release from the Rock Springs Police Department, officers from the Rock Spirngs Police Department and deputies from the Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance at the Quality Inn at approximately 1:30 a.m. on June 23, 2016.
Upon arrival to the Quality Inn, officers determined one woman had suffered multiple stab wounds as the result of an altercation. The woman was identified as Naisha Story, 29 of South Jordan, Utah, and later succumbed to her injuries at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County. One additional woman was injured during the incident and was transported to Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County and later flown to University of Utah Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
A joint agency investigation determined Bradley Fairbourn, 18 of Draper, Utah, had allegedly stabbed the women.
As a result of the investigation, Fairbourn was arrested for Murder in the First Degree and Attempted Murder in the First Degree and incarcerated at the Sweetwater County Detention Facility. Bond and a booking photo were not available at the time of the media release.
Chief Pacheco credits the arrest to the hard work and diligence of all those involved in this investigation.
All persons are innocent until proven guilty.
