Traffic was slowed on Dewar Drive this afternoon after a 16-year-old girl allegedly flipped her vehicle at the intersection of the Belt Loop and Dewar Drive.
Officers responded to the wreck near Loaf n’ Jug on Dewar Drive at about 1:33 p.m. Wednesday.
A silver passenger vehicle was overturned. At the time of the crash, the 16-year-old female driver and a passenger were in the vehicle. Police say no injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
According to RSPD, officers determined that the vehicle overturned when the driver made a left turn and drove onto a support cable to a power pole. Due to the damage to the cable, power was lost at the intersection’s traffic lights.
The driver was cited for Failure to Maintain Lane of Travel.
Because the driver was a minor, the name of the driver has not been released.
