The Wyoming Department of Transportation will be conducting roadway patching operations in Rock Springs near the Wells Fargo Bank on Dewar Drive starting in late June, weather permitting.
Crews are tentatively scheduled to conduct the work on June 23 and 24. Residents and motorists who travel through the Dewar Drive-College Drive intersection can expect to see closures and potential delays. Drivers are advised to plan accordingly.
While the work is underway, the lower portion of College Drive to Dewar Drive will be closed to traffic. Drivers are advised to find alternate routes, such as Skyline Drive and Grant Street.
Dewar Drive is tentatively scheduled to remain open to two-way traffic, with three lanes closed at a time for paving operations.
All work dates are tentatively scheduled and subject to change.
The work is part of a district-wide patching project that will include work in Lincoln, Teton and Sweetwater Counties. The nature of the work will include grading, milling and paving various sections in District 3.
Lewis & Lewis, Inc., of Rock Springs was awarded the contract for $1.65 million dollars last fall. The completion date for the district-wide work is October 31, 2016.
WYDOT would like to remind drivers to slow down in work zones, be alert and cautious of roadside workers.
