A Gillette man died last week after his motorcycle went off the roadway while he was passing another vehicle.
According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, 62-year-old Sherman Taylor was involved in an accident at about 5 p.m. last Friday on Wyoming State Highway 50, about 51 miles south of Gillette.
Taylor was riding a 2006 Harley-Davidson motorcycle north on WY 50. He was passing another northbound vehicle when his motorcycle left the road to the west and crashed. Taylor was thrown from the motorcycle and sustained fatal injuries on scene. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
WHP says this is the 18th highway fatality in Wyoming in 2016, compared to 47 fatalities the same time last year.
