Flags in Wyoming will be flown at half-staff on Saturday, January 23, 2016 in honor of a Fremont County firefighter who died from injuries sustained while fighting a blaze in September.
Governor Matthew Mead has ordered the U.S. and State of Wyoming flags to be flown at half-staff in honor of Deputy Chief Clarence “Speed” Hartbank, who died on January 13, 2016. Hartbank died as a result of burns suffered at a Fremont County Fire on September 10, 2015 when he reportedly suffered burns on 38 percent of his body.
Deputy Chief Hartbank served as a firefighter in Fremont County for 45 years.
