Crews Work To Keep Runway Open At Rock Springs-Sweetwater County Airport

As of 10:30 this morning, everything is running on schedule at the Rock Springs-Sweetwater County Airport, but that could change at a moment’s notice.RS Airport

With heavy snow falling in the region, crews are actively plowing the airport’s runway and working to keep it open, according to Airport Manager Devon Brubaker.

Brubaker says the airport does not control the flights, but the crews are working to ensure everything continues to run smoothly.

“United Airlines controls whether the flights would be delayed, cancelled, or operating on time. As we sit here today, all flights are scheduled and running on time,” Brubaker said at about 10:30 a.m. today. “However, that can change at a last minute notice with the weather that’s hitting our region. Our crews will do everything in our power to keep the airport open and safe for the next 36 hours or so as we continue to see this snow.”

Brubaker said people can check their flight status online at united.com or by downloading the United App on iTunes or Google Play.
