*UPDATE* Century Link says service was restored to all customers as of 12:20 p.m.
Original: Many CenturyLink phone customers in the Rock Springs area are experiencing an outage.
Technicians are aware of the problem and currently working to fix it. At this time, they expect to have it fixed by 5:21 p.m.
The problems seem to be widespread throughout Rock Springs and have impacted multiple residential and business lines. Some are reporting that they cannot receive calls while others are having trouble dialing out.
City of Rock Springs offices report they have been able to receive intermittent phone calls, but many are not getting through.
The Pubic Defenders’ Office and County Attorney’s Office have been experiencing problems with their lines. Circuit Court has not experienced any phone problems that they are aware of as of yet.
At about 11 a.m. a CenturyLink Representative made the following statement via email:
CenturyLink is aware that some customers in Rock Springs may be experiencing disruptions to their phone services due to a maintenance issue. Technicians are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Many customers have already been restored, and 911 services have been restored. We apologize for any inconvenience this creates for our customers.
