White Mountain Library’s Bookin’ It Book Club has selected Song Yet Sung, by James McBride for their February book selection, according to a release from Sweetwater County Libraries. The Book Club will meet on at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, February 18 at Starbucks, 118 Westland Way, Rock Springs.

Song Yet Sung is the story of Liz Spocott, a runaway slave fleeing her captors through the swamps of east Maryland. Based on historical events, McBride uses rich detail to describe Liz’s escape and the subsequent drama between slave catchers, masters, runaway slaves, and free blacks.
