The Organization Committee of the Rock Springs Main Street/URA recently announced that Becky Gressette is their March Volunteer of the Month.
Becky is a relative newcomer to Rock Springs, having moved from Union, SC in 2011. She graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, double majoring in Marketing and Management. After graduating college, Gressette was a food broker, sold medical and dental equipment, and managed a family steel fabrication company.
After relocating to Rock Springs, Gressette volunteered to help with the National High School Finals Rodeo. Her volunteer work led to her a position in the marketing department at the Sweetwater Events Complex, where she worked for two years. She’s currently employed with Waddell & Reed Financial.
Gressette is married to Sidney, a Mechanical Engineer with Simplot Phosphates. She’s also a Rock Springs Rotary member, Young and Professional (YAP) Board Member, and serves on a variety of URA Committees including the Kentucky Derby Party committee and the Sweetwater Blues n’ Brews committee. Becky was instrumental in recruiting Union Pacific Railroad as a sponsor for the Kentucky Derby Party.
“I love it here,” Gressette said in a press release.
“The residents of Sweetwater County are extremely community focused. I have never lived where so many people are happy and willing to volunteer for such a variety of wonderful causes,” she added.
