Both the City of Rock Springs and Green River are kicking off the holiday season with their annual tree lighting ceremonies. On Thursday, December 3rd Mayor Pete Rust, the Main Street Agency and the Green River Chamber of Commerce will gather at the Clock Tower Plaza in downtown Green River for the tree lighting ceremony to start at 5:30 pm.
The event will also include holiday treats, warm drinks and Christmas Carols. Those attending can also see entries in the window decorating contest along Main Street.
In Rock Springs the Mayor’s Tree Lighting will take place Saturday at 5 pm at Cannon Park, which is located at the intersection of Grant, Elk and A Streets. Immediately following the lighting ceremony, participants are invited to stay downtown for the Annual Lighted Holiday Parade and Christmas in the Park. Christmas in the Park, which will be held at Bunning Park, will be open from 1 – 5 pm and 6:30 to 7:30 pm. Santa will join the festivities from 1:30 to 4:30 pm.
