Actors’ Mission is proud to announce its 50th production and our third performance of our 2015 Season.
“The Hound of the Baskervilles” is a Sherlock Holmes mystery by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle adapted for the stage by F. Andrew Leslie. It will be performed over two weeks: October 2-4 and October 8-10. All evening performances (Friday October 2, Saturday October 3, Thursday October 8, Friday October 9, and Saturday October 10) will begin at 7 p.m. The Sunday matinee (October 4) will begin at 2 p.m. As always, all performances are free of charge, and a delicious and complimentary meal will be served an hour prior to each performance.
Seasoned director Aaron Volner has the honor of directing our 50th production, a milestone accomplishment for Actors’ Mission. What better way to celebrate this epic milestone but with a classic Sherlock Holmes mystery!
In “The Hound of the Baskervilles,” legendary detective Sherlock Holmes and his companion Dr. Watson are approached by Sir Henry Baskerville, the last known descendent of the Baskerville line, about the mysterious death of his uncle and the strange incidences that have occurred since his arrival in London. Sinister forces seem to have their gaze on the young lord, and it may not be safe for him to return to the hall of his ancestors. Holmes and Watson will be plunged into one of their most dangerous mysteries as they work to unravel the shadowy plot unfolding within the depths of Dartmoor.
“The Hound of the Baskervilles” is one of the most iconic of Sherlock Holmes’ adventures, and for good reason. The motifs of predator and prey that run through the story have a very broad appeal. The danger that Holmes and Dr. Watson face in this adventure manifest themselves on multiple levels, and the mystery itself is good bit of fun once the game is afoot.

Actors’ Mission is excited about our production of a Sherlock Holmes mystery as many of our patrons have been asking us to do just that over many seasons!
Please check the attached poster art for dates and performance times. Thank you for your continued support of the arts and particularly of Actors’ Mission.
