According to information from GRPD, Animal Control Officers responded at 7:08 p.m. Tuesday, July 19th to a report of a dog bite on the Greenbelt Pathway behind Harrison School.

A 12-year-old boy riding a scooter on the pathway was reportedly bitten by a black and white Bull breed type of dog which was walking with a couple pushing a stroller on the Greenbelt Pathway.

The couple with the dog were reported as an adult Caucasian man with a bald head who was wearing a white tank top and an adult Caucasian woman with brown hair. The couple were reportedly pushing a toddler-aged child in a stroller along the path, and the dog was walking in front of them.

The couple continued walking north on the pathway and turned southeast on East Teton Boulevard near Alabama Street, according to a release from GRPD.

It is Wyoming State Law to report a dog bite and for dogs to have a current rabies vaccination.

The Green River Police Department is attempting to identify the owner of the dog to verify that it has a current rabies vaccination in order to avoid possible rabies treatments for the boy who was bitten.

Anyone with information that can help identify the owner of the dog is asked to contact the Sweetwater County Combined Communication Center at 307-875-1400, the Green River Police Department at 307-872-0555, or Green River Animal Shelter at 307-872-0570.
