Rock Springs Main Street/URA Board of Directors Selects Maria Mortensen as Chairperson

At their regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, the Rock Springs Main Street/Urban Renewal Agency unanimously selected Maria Mortensen as the board chairperson. First-Choice-Buick-GMC

Mortensen was appointed to the Board of Directors in November 2014.  Prior to serving on the board, she was a member of the Rock Springs Main Street/URA’s Promotions Committee, having chaired it for two years, according to information provided by Rock Springs URA. She’s worked on various Main Street/URA events and programs including the Halloween Stroll, floats for the Downtown Lighted Parade, Rods & Rails and Sweetwater Blues & Brews.

Mortensen has been the Health Services Manager at Head Start for 20 years and has been a passionate volunteer for the Main Street/URA.

Mortensen and her husband, Heath, both have deep roots in Sweetwater County.

Other board members include Stacy Jones (Vice Chairman), Cheryl Confer (Secretary), Gloria Hutton (Treasurer), Kevin Harper and Devon Brubaker.  Glennise Wendorf serves as the liaison to the Rock Springs City Council.
