The tourists who put a newborn bison calf in their vehicle spoke to ABC News about the experience, explaining why they made the decisions they did.
In the ABC News video, the men said they thought they were doing something nice by bringing in the baby bison. They said they felt like picking up the calf, which they say was already abandoned, was the right thing to do.
The men said they do not believe the bison would have survived, even if they did not pick it up.
Despite how the information has often been presented, they told ABC News they felt people did not know the full story before criticizing their actions.
If they had to do it all over again, the men said they would just let nature take its course in Yellowstone National Park.
