Meadow Gold Dairy is recalling approximately 10,000 units of whipping cream and half and half due to insufficient pasteurization.
The affected products were distributed in four states, including Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, and Oregon.
According to a release, the insufficient pasteurization was discovered during a routine records review. It was found that the product may have been under-processed, and it is possible that pathogens present in raw milk—including Salmonella, Campylobacter, Listeria, and/or E. coli—may have survived. If ingested, these pathogens could cause serious or life threatening issues.
The company says it has received no reports of illnesses related to the recall. Meadow Gold Dairy has ceased distribution of the affected product and is in the process of recovering it.
Consumers who have this product should not consume it. They should discard it and may return the product package to the place of purchase for a full refund or exchange.
Consumers with questions can contact the Company at 1-800-587-2259 Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm central time.
